ecotechnological solutions
We specialize in the treatment of acid mine drainage and contaminated soils, providing environmental engineering and consulting services focused on sustainability
WHAT WE DO
Proyectos Tecnológicos Rumbo 5 Cero, S.L. is dedicated to research, development, and innovation of sustainable technological solutions for environmental treatment and decontamination, with a strong focus on the valorization of liquid, solid, and gaseous waste.
In addition, the company provides environmental engineering and consulting services, including:
- Preparation of specialized technical reports.
- Environmental inspections and audits.
- Laboratory analyses applied to contaminated matrices.
- Environmental assessments and diagnostics.
- Environmental impact studies and proposals for corrective measures.
Its strategic objective is to contribute to the ecological transition and the circular economy, transforming waste into resources and minimizing negative impacts on ecosystems.
Mission
Vision
The company also seeks to deliver excellence in environmental engineering and consulting services, contributing to impact prevention, ecosystem restoration, and the advancement toward a more responsible, fair, and circular production model.
The company aspires to be recognized for its scientific rigor, technological transfer capabilities, and commitment to sustainability, providing solutions that balance economic development with environmental protection and the well-being of future generations.
FIELDS OF WORK
Contaminated soil management
We develop and implement methodologies for the characterization, treatment, and remediation of contaminated soils affected by heavy metals, hydrocarbons, and other toxic agents.
Our projects combine scientific research with technological solutions that promote ecosystem restoration and the safe reuse of degraded land, prioritizing sustainability and circular economy principles.
Acid mine drainage treatment
We research and apply advanced technologies for the treatment and valorization of acid mine drainage (AMD) and industrial effluents.
Through processes such as Continuous Vacuum Evaporation (MEVEC), we achieve water decontamination and recovery of valuable materials, contributing to a zero-discharge model and the regeneration of mining environments and affected aquifers.
Environmental consulting and engineering
We provide environmental engineering and consulting services focused on the prevention, assessment, and mitigation of environmental impacts.
Our work includes technical reports, environmental impact studies, and audits, combining scientific expertise with practical solutions for companies, public administrations, and industrial projects committed to sustainability.
Renewable energies
We promote research and development of clean technologies that drive the energy transition toward renewable sources and more efficient systems.
Our projects focus on the integration of renewable energies into industrial and environmental processes, encouraging emission reduction and the responsible use of natural resources.
RESEARCH PROJECT
Economic Valuation of the Sulfate Concentrate Obtained from Acid Mine Drainage Decontamination and the Separation of its Useful Components.
The project aims to evaluate the economic potential of the sulfate concentrates generated through the decontamination of acid mine drainage (AMD). The research focuses on the development of sustainable technologies that not only neutralize the environmental impact of AMD but also enable the separation and recovery of valuable components (such as metals and industrial-grade sulfates).By combining environmental remediation with resource valorization, the project seeks to establish a circular economy model in which waste streams from mining activities are transformed into marketable products. This approach contributes to both environmental protection and economic viability, offering scalable solutions for mining regions affected by AMD. Expected outcomes:
- Quantification of the market value of sulfate concentrates.
- Identification of useful components with industrial or commercial applications.
- Validation of a sustainable treatment process based on zero-discharge principles.
- Contribution to the ecological transition and compliance with European environmental directives.
PATENT
Methodology for the Decontamination of Any Type of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) Using Continuous Vacuum Evaporation (MEVEC).
The patent introduces an innovative methodology called MEVEC (Continuous Vacuum Evaporation Methodology), developed for the decontamination and economic valorization of acid mine drainage (AMD). The process reproduces, at an industrial scale, the natural geological mechanisms of mineral salt formation, producing two main outputs:- Decontaminated water, suitable for various uses (industrial, agricultural, controlled discharge, or even consumption after verification).
- Solid concentrates, rich in critical and strategic raw materials that can be recovered through physical, chemical, thermal, electromagnetic, and metallurgical techniques.
